STEPP

It is surprising as how a programmer is trying to dictate our business flow even after several meetings. My experience is with our current outsource company. During the first meeting, i have presented in lengthy about our new structure. How we wanted the software to reflect the new structure instead of the old organization structure ... no longer relevant as of 1 June 2014.

The new software refers to the current software operating in our organization. The owner of the current software unfortunately refuses to change the structure to reflect the new structure. Since the data to our new software are derived from the current software, the programmer was trying to make it easy. So during my second meeting, i was shocked. It took me a mere 5 minutes before i stopped the presentation by the programmer and brought him back to the proper path with regards to Projects versus Centre. The path that was discussed during the first meeting.

The third meeting happened at his office. This time again the organization issue appeared. The use of Centre versus Unit. Again i had to bring him back to the correct path.

In the fourth meeting happening at his office, the rights of managers and subordinates appeared according to what he wants it to be and not what our current process is.

Surprisingly, in the fifth meeting happening in our place which was supposed to be the teaching day for admin to update the database, the issue of the fourth meeting appeared again. Again i have to stress our organization structure to them.

Today, after putting it on the whiteboard, they still got it mixed up. Hopefully, tomorrow it is correct.
